WESTERN POLICE DISTRICT (WPD) GALLANTRY MEDAL – For participation in the retaking of Channel 4 and Camelot Hotel during the Coup d’ Etat attempt of August 28, 1986.

PLAQUE OF RECOGNITION – For displaying an unflinching loyalty to the preservation and stability of the government during  the critical hours of the rightists rebellion on August 28, 1986. Given on August 28, 1989 by the Western Police District-Metropolitan Force.

PLAQUE OF APPRECIATION – In grateful appreciation to the contribution in the defense of the Malacanang  Complex during the failed coup attempt on December 01-16, 1989. Given on December 15, 1989 by Col. Voltaire T. Gazmin, Commander of the Presidential Security Group.

SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE – Awarded during the National Defense College of the Philippines’ (NDCP) graduation rites (Regular Course No. 24) on July 18, 1990, for obtaining a general weighted average of 1.233.

LEADERSHIP AWARD – Given during the Commencement Exercise of Regular Class No. 24 of the National Defense College of the Philippines, for exemplary leadership as Class Mayor.

OUTSTANDING CIVILIAN ALUMNUS AWARD OF REGULAR CLASS NO. 24 (WITH 1ST STAR) – Given on September 8, 1990 by Brig. Gen. Florencio Magsino (Ret.), President of the National Defense College of the Philippines.

AWARD OF THE OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL – For distinguished and outstanding service to the Armed Forces of the Philippines during intelligence build-up and counteraction operation conducted by the ISAFP against ultra rightist group’s execom hierarchy that resulted in the arrest of Col. Victor Batac and other URG leaders in Makati on 06 February 1991. Given by Gen. Rodolfo G. Biazon, AFP Chief of Staff on 22 March 1991.

MILITARY CIVIC ACTION MEDAL – Awarded by the Philippine Air Force on October 8, 1991, for having actively participated in civic action work giving full assistance to Mt. Pinatubo victims.

OUTSTANDING CHAIRMAN, METRO MANILA AUTHORITY – Awarded by the National Defense College of the Philippines on September 19, 1992 for the eminently meritorious services in the field of national security and development.

AWARD ON THE LUZON CAMPAIGN MEDAL – Awarded by the Armed Forces of the Philippines on November 10, 1992, for service and law enforcement, military and civic action operations in the islands of Luzon and waters immediately adjacent thereto for a period of at least six (6) months.

AWARD ON THE DISASTER RELIEF AND REHABILITATION OPERATION RIBBON – Awarded by the Armed Forces of the Philippines on November 10, 1992, for active participation in an undertaking involving rescue relief and rehabilitation operations connected with typhoons, floods and volcanic eruption in Luzon and waters immediately adjacent thereto for a period of at least six (6) months.

AWARD ON THE ANTI-DISSIDENCE CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND RIBBON – Awarded by the Armed Forces of the Philippines on November 10, 1992 for service and law enforcement, military and civic action operations in the islands of Luzon and waters immediately adjacent thereto for a period of at least six (6) months.

MILITARY MERIT AWARD (WITH IST BRONZE ANAHAW LEAF) – Awarded the Philippine Air Force on January 1993 for having demonstrated outstanding and valuable services in the Mt. Pinatubo relief operations from 29 May 1992 to 28 January 1993.

OUTSTANDING ALUMNUS AWARD – Awarded by the National Defense College of the Philippines on September 17, 1993, in recognition for an outstanding effort in upholding the tradition of excellence in National Security Administration which earned him the election to such key position of responsibility as Mayor of Makati.

AWARD ON THE MILITARY MERIT MEDAL (WITH 2ND BRONZE ANAHAW LEAF) – Awarded by the Philippine Navy, Naval Reserve Command on May 12, 1994, for meritorious and valuable services rendered as Commander of 202nd Maine Reserve Squadron and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the 14th AFP Reservists Day Celebration on 11 September 1993.

LAANG KAWAL AWARD – For being adjudged as AFP Reservist Officer of the Year (1995-96) and Navy Reservist Officer of the Year (1995-96). Given on 08 September 1996 during the National Reservists’ Week Celebration, Camp Gen. E. Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

AFP RESERVIST OFFICER OF THE YEAR, 1996 – In pursuant to the Philippine Letter Directive Number 68-96, by Command of General Arturo Enrile.

KARANGALAN AWARD – Awarded by Vice-Admiral Eduardo Ma. R. Santos, Flag Officer-in-Command, Philippine Navy, for outstanding achievement as Commander of the 401st Marine Battalion Reserve, 4th Marine Brigade Reserve, and as City Mayor of Makati. Given on November 6, 1997 at Fort Bonifacio, Makati.

CHAIRMAN’S AWARD – In recognition of contribution to the Regional Operation of Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee, World Organization of the Scout Movement and to the Boy Scouts of the Philippines. Awarded by the Chairman of APR Scout Committee (1998).

SPECIAL PRESIDENTIAL AWARD FOR SERVICE – for exemplary work as Mayor of Makati for four (4) terms, emphasizing service to the most disadvantaged and the least of our society, restoring to them their dignity and making them productive members of society, giving life to the ideals of the University of being men of value and not just men eking out a living. Awarded on the occasion of  Ruby Jubilarian, AB ’62 by the University of the Philippines Alumni Association, June 15, 2002.

LEADERSHIP AWARD (PRESIDENTIAL CITATION) – For exemplary brand of leadership, indubitable integrity and chaste execution of duties. Conferred by Alpha Phi Omega International Philippines, Inc. during its Testimonial Dinner on O6 October 2002 at The Pearl Manila, Taft Avenue, Philippines.

MOST OUTSTANDING CITY MAYOR OF MAKATI AND CONSUMERS ADVOCATE AWARD - Given by the Consumers Union of the Philippines during their 14th Annual National Consumers Award (ANCA), July 4, 2003.

OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN PUBLIC SERVICE – Given during the Golden Anniversary celebration/reunion of U.P. Preparatory School. January 3, 2004 at Global City, Taguig.

U. P. OBLATION RUN AWARD – Given during the 51st Anniversary celebration of UP Alpha Phi Omega Alumni Association (Eta Chapter). February 7, 2004, APO Ball, Grand Ballroom, New World Renaissance Hotel, Makati.

CENTENNIAL MEDAL OF HONOR – For excellence in service to mankind. Given by Rotary International during  its centennial celebration held at RCBC Tower, Ayala Avenue, Makati on June 4, 2005.

OUTSTANDING PUBLIC OFFICIAL AND GREAT ACHIEVER – Given during the 16th Annual National Consumers Awards (ANCA) by the Consumers Union of the Philippines, October 28, 2005 at The Westin Philippine Plaza, Manila.

APR AWARD FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE – In recognition of outstanding leadership and invaluable contributions towards the promotion and development of Scouting. Conferred on 20th May 2006 by the Scout Committee of the World Organization of the Scout Movement-Asia Pacific Region.

CEO (COMMUNICATION EXCELLENCE IN ORGANIZATIONS) EXCEL AWARD – For successfully harnessing communication in advancing the reputation, enhancing the profitability and achieving stakeholders’ objectives of the organization. Given by the International Association of Business Communicators on November 08, 2006, Forum 3 Philippine International Convention Center, Roxas Boulevard, Manila.

WORLD MAYOR AWARD – An internet-based search conducted by an organization of professionals based in London, organized to promote strong cities and good local government. Launched in 2004, it aimed to show what outstanding mayors can achieve and raise their profiles. December, 2006.
